印度北阿坎德省杰莫利县（Chamoli）塔波万区（Tapovan）雷尼村（Reni）昨天(7日)发生暴洪，根据最新消息，受困一座隧道的16人全数获救。但这起事故恐将造成100至150人伤亡。
喜马拉雅山冰河今天早上崩裂掉落河里，激起洪流冲击印度一座水坝，并摧毁桥梁和道路。洪水危及滨河居民的性命，迫使下游村庄居民撤离。

根据外媒报导，印度与西藏边境警察部队（Indo-Tibetan Border Police，ITBP）表示，他们已在印度国家火力发电公司（NTPC）位于塔波万的场址附近，寻获约10人遗体。
同时根据最新消息，ITBP也已将受困塔波万附近隧道内的16人全数救出。

北阿坎德省省长拉瓦特（TrivendraSingh Rawat）在省会德哈拉丹（Dehradun）指出，目前已寻获7具遗体，约125人下落不明，且人数可能继续增加。

北阿坎德省主任秘书普拉卡希（Om Prakash）表示，实际伤亡数字尚未证实，但恐怕有100至150人死亡。
目击者表示，当大水咆哮着冲下河谷时，看到一堵由沙土、岩石和水形成的墙。
北阿坎德省长拉瓦特（Trivendra Singh Rawat）推文表示：”阿拉克南达河（Alaknanda River）在南德拉耶（Nandprayag）河段的水流已经变得正常。”
他补充，”这条河的水位现在比正常水位高出一公尺，但流量正在减少。”
靠近喜马拉雅山的印度北阿坎德省容易发生暴洪和山崩。 在2013年6月创纪录的降雨导致毁灭性洪水，夺走近6000人性命。
