Responding to the global push for carbon reduction, Taiwan- based YC Holding Inc., and Malaysian Green Business Association (MAGBA) sealed a collaborative pact on the 20th March in Taipei Smart City Expo held at the Nangang Exhibition Center. The memorandum of understanding aves the way for the introduction of ASPNex comprehensive carbon reduction system in Malaysia. The initiative aims to empower local government agencies and businesses in embracing sustainable practices aligned with carbon reduction and ESG principles.

Last year, the Institute for Information Industry (III) led a delegation of Taiwanese information service industry representatives to Malaysia to explore business opportunities. The positive response resulted in the initiation of several collaborative projects. Mr. Eden Hsu, Director of the Digital Transformation Research Institute at III, emphasized the high-level technical expertise and continuous innovation within Taiwan’s information and communication technology (ICT) sector. The collaboration between Taiwanese and Malaysian businesses shows a successful example of cross-border cooperation. Mr. Hsu expressed optimism about future collaborations between Taiwanese and Southeast Asian companies, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, green energy, artificial intelligence (AI), digital marketing, and smart applications.

The President of MAGBA, Tan Sri Mustafa Mansur, emphasized that carbon reduction and achieving net-zero emissions are imperative for governments and businesses worldwide. He highlighted that cloud-based inspection modules with international third-party certifications play a crucial role in successfully progressing towards sustainability goals. Given Taiwan’s international recognition in high technology, the association is enthusiastic about facilitating collaborations in this realm, aiming for mutually beneficial outcomes for businesses in Malaysia and Taiwan. MAGBA has a track record of organizing the largest international green and environmental protection exhibition in Southeast Asia, known as the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM), creating numerous opportunities for international cooperation.
